blessed be the name of the Lord blessed

be the name of the Lord his name is

Jesus their worship their worship is to

no purpose it’s no purpose while they

give us their teaching the rules of man

the worship that is to no purpose while

they give the teaching this is the thing

God said I want you to worship by giving

to those who have not and by keeping

yourselves from the world that is the

good worship that is acceptable yet some

are many many take on rules of man rules

that they have made up that they have

added to the Word of God sometimes with

a good intention so that the people

might not even come near to sinning

against God but these rules are not of

God they are the teaching of men and

sometimes in time these teachings become

more important than the Word of God

which is then catastrophic for their

relationship with God for what happens

then is what happened to these people in

those days they had the Lord God with

them but they could not recognize him he

could not see that he was the Lord and

this is because they had taken on as

their rules to be more important the

rules of men that

teachings of men and a word of God so I

pray that our worship you all would

always help those who are in need and to

keep ourselves from becoming like the

world do not make up our own rules but

to follow the Word of God this I pray so

that our worship may have a purpose to

please God in Jesus mighty name amen

Matthew 15 Lord give us your word speak

with your voice speak unto the hearts of

those who are under the power of your

voice being a Christian is not just a

badge it’s not just a banner it’s not a

system a method I hear that word I’d

nearly choked up when I have to say it

so many times have I heard we need a

method but it is not a matter it’s not a

system of doctrine or of things to do

that will make you holy for words do not

do anything you need to have that faith

that justifies you before God so that he

will then use you to do his works that

is what we need that is what we need

there is no use there is no use in rules

and systems that do nothing there is no

use in them

there is no use and so the Lord called

those who did these things he called

them hypocrites hypocrites for they made

up their own rules their own doctrines

and went zealously after them instead of

using their zeal to go after God and

when the Lord came down they could not

see him Matthew 15 Matthew 15 let’s

start at verse 7 but we land at verse 9

Matthew 15 you false ones well did

Isaiah say of you these people give me

honor with their lips but their heart is

far from me but their worship is to no

purpose while they give us their

teaching the rules of men and further in

that chapter he goes on to heal the

child of a sight of a woman from Syria I

mean help

those who have not the poor help them

and keep yourselves from becoming like

the world pay attention what you do let

us do all reading reading Matthew 15

verse 1 it’s about these rules of men

these traditions of men these

commandments of men and a Word of God

then there came to Jesus from Jerusalem

Pharisees and scribes saying why do your

disciples go against the teaching of the

fathers for they take food with unwashed

hands and an answer he said to them why

do you yourselves go against the Word of

God on account of the teaching which has

been handed down to you on account of

your tradition

an account of your tradition for God

said give honor to your father and

mother and he who says evil a father or

mother will be put to death

but you say if a man says to his father

or his mother that by which you might

have had profit from me is given to God

there is no need for him to give honor

to his father and you have made a Word

of God without the fact because of your

teaching you false ones

well did I see a sea of you these people

give me honor with their lips but their

heart is far from the Word of God says

give honor to your father and mother

it doesn’t say give honor to your father

and mother if they are good give honor

to your father and mother so that it

will meet so that it may be good for you

in the land which the Lord your God is

giving it but these Pharisees have

changed it up and a Pharisee does not

stand per se for a Jewish priest

but it stands for priests who do these

things these Pharisees made it that hey

if you give all your profit and they’re

thinking about money of course land how

to go to the temple then you don’t have

to worry about giving honor to your

father and mother so the words of the

Lord and I read don’t don’t take it

personal it is personal but don’t take

it personal you false ones well did

Isaiah say of you these people give me

honor with their lips but their heart is

far from

but their worship is to no purpose while

they give as their teaching the rules of

men while you give as your teaching the

rules of men your worship

no matter how glorious it may seem is to

no purpose and he got the people

together and said to them give ear and

let my words be clear to you not that

which goes into the mouth makes a man

unclean but that which comes out of the

mouth a lot of people are busy with

washing hands with doing face you can’t

eat without doing that yet the word of

the Lord is not that which goes into the

mouth makes a man unclean but that which

comes out of the mouth then the

disciples came and said to him did you

see that the Pharisees were troubled

when these words came to their ears but

he said in answer every plant which my

father in heaven has not put in the

earth will be taken up by the roots

these Pharisees these false ones these

who go by the rules made by men call it

a religion they will be taken up by the

roots and thrown into the fire verse 14

let them be they are blind guides and if

a blind man is guiding a blind man the

two will go falling into a hole together

then Peter said to him make the story

clear to us and he said are you like

them still without wisdom do you not see

that whatever goes into the mouth goes

on into the stomach and is sent out

as waste but the things which come out

of the mouth come from the heart and

they make a man unclean for out of the

heart come evil thoughts the taking of

life broken faith between the married

unclean desires of the flesh taking of

property false witness bitter words

these are the things which make a man

unclean but to take food with unwashed

hands does not make a man unclean and

Jesus went away from there into the

country of tyre and sidon and a woman of

Canaan came out from those parts crying

and saying have pity on me O Lord son of

David my daughter is greatly troubled

with an unclean spirit but he gave her

no answer and his disciples came and

said to him send her away for she is

crying after us but he made answer and

said I will send only to the wandering

sheep of the house of Israel but she

came and gave him worship saying help

Lord isn’t that the sweetest prayer

isn’t that the shortest way to get his

help Lord and he made answer and said it

is not right to take the children’s his

bread and give it to the dogs

he called her but she said yes Lord

she’ll say don’t call me a dog who do

you think you are she said yes Lord but

even the dogs take the bits from under

them their masters is stable then jeez

answering said to her a woman great is

your faith great is your faith even when

being put down by the Lord you worship

Him and tell him yes Lord but even we

the dogs who have been put down we live

by your grace great is your faith let

your desire be done and her daughter was

made well from death our and Jesus went

from there and came to the Sea of

Galilee and he went up into the mountain

and took his seat there and there came

to him great numbers of people having

with them those who were broken in body

or blind or without voice or wounded or

ill in any way and a number of others

they put them down at his feet and he

made them well so that the people were

full of wonder full of wonder when they

saw that those who had no voice were

talking the feeble were made strong

those whose bodies were broken had the

power of walking and the blind were able

to see and they gave glory to the God of

Israel and Jesus got his disciples

together and said I have pity for the

people because they have now been with

me three days and have no food and I

will not send them away without food or

they will have no strength for the

journey now let’s get out into the big

picture here of this chapter some people

say it’s three different stories we have

to break the stories down and ending up

with a couple of loose verses which have

no

but the overview of the chapter is that

God says that their worship is to no

purpose that those who have the rules of

men instead of the Word of God their

worship is to no purpose

while the givers are teaching the rules

of men and these stories these stories

that come after are showing through

worship it doesn’t matter what you have

to eat it doesn’t matter how you wash

your hands the Levitical rules of eating

are about ingesting spiritual things for

God is spirit the Word of God is about

spirit is about that which separates us

from the rest of creation it’s about

spirit so he is showing what true

worship is not what you eat and how you

prepared it but what comes out of your

heart and what should come out of your

heart

well the mercy of grace and the

worshipping of God whether you be high

ranking or low for all have gone astray

all have gone astray

some people take take offense when I say

well at some point we are all dogs they

take offense to them

but notice that if you are acting holy

or saying you’re holy or say you are in

this church and in that one and healing

is not coming to you notice that the one

whom he called dog said yes Lord but

even we the dogs we live by your grace

by the rest of your grace that those who

are not dogs let go by the bits the drop

of the Masters is stable and his reply

is then oh you have great faith your

desire will be done straightaway and

again and again and again mercy help

those who have not I have pity for the

people because they have now been with

me three days without whom I have pity

for the people

these stories are one chapter because

they illustrate what he started out by

rebuking the Pharisees about through

worship worship that has a purpose not

the teachings of men blessed be your

Lord and

people said to him how may we get enough

bread in a waste place to get food to

such a number of people and Jesus says

to them how much bread have you and they

said seven cakes and some small fish

seven completion then he gave an order

to the people to be seated on the earth

and he took the seven cakes of bread and

the fishes and having given praise he

gave the broken bread to the disciples

and the disciples gave it to the people

and they all took food and had enough

and they all took food and had enough

and they took up of the broken bits

seven baskets full and there were four

thousand men who took food together with

women and children and when he had sent

the people away he got into the boat and

came into the country of Magadan blessed

be your Lord blessed be our Lord who

wants through worship not worship from

the laws of men but true worship in

spirit and in truth

in pity in mercy helping those who have

not and keeping ourselves from going

after the rules of men the wisdom of the

world in Jesus mighty name amen

blessed be our Lord and let the Holy

Spirit increase everywhere in Jesus
